“  Chris Freeman was 26 years old when he gained his powers -- the ability to summon up the recently deceased as a ghost he could speak to, for a 24 hour period. He originally worked as a coroner for the New York City police department (the same department as his father, a detective), but eventually relocated to Gotham City. He continues working as a coroner and using his powers to solve cases of homicide (despite the suspicion of his immediate superior). Why he came back to life from his initial violent death, why he has these powers, and what 'rules' he is apparently breaking according to the mysterious Mr. Keeper... all these things are so far unknown to him.  ”
